The Healing Potential of Morning Sadhana
Just sleeping through the sunrise has a negative effect on your physical body. If you get up at 4 a.m. you can avoid the adrenal load which comes from dreaming at that time. During sadhana you consciously control your breath, and instead of stimulating the sympathetic nervous system with the ‘fight or flight’ response, you stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system, allowing the body to rejuvenate.
If you do this every morning for 20, 30 or 40 years, you can see that you are going to become a completely different person as a result. Morning sadhana is going to change your core, because when you do something in a habituated fashion over a long period of time, it affects the very DNA of your body.
